Painting Ocean Waves is a new upcoming painting workshop by Dannielle Mick at the Middletown Arts Center in Middleton, NJ. Here are the details:

Painting Ocean Waves – One-Day Workshop

Instructor: Dannielle Mick

Date: April 15th, 2018

Time: 9am-5pm

Description: Water is different from other landscapes because it is sometimes transparent, sometimes running, sometimes crashing waves; it is always moving, never stopping. This workshop will give you solid techniques on how to understand what you see and then translate it into a painting. You will learn to simplify using basic shapes to create atmospheric perspective. Explore light source and shadows in the folding waves. Students must bring their own supplies and an apron. Pack a bag lunch or snack. Pastels will be demonstrated, but all media are welcome.

Location:

Middletown Arts Center

36 Church Street

Middletown, NJ

Dannielle Mick – Introduction to Impressionism

Introduction to Impressionism is a second upcoming painting workshop in April by Dannielle Mick at the Belmar Arts Center in Belmar, NJ. Here are the details:

Introduction to Impressionism

Instructor: Dannielle Mick

Date: April 22nd, 2018

Time: 12-5pm

Description:

“Don’t paint bit by bit, but paint everything at once by placing tones everywhere, with brushstrokes of the right color and value, while noticing what is alongside.” –Camille Pissarro

This workshop is for the artist who has some experience but would like to loosen up. Impressionism is a manner of painting in which the forms and colors of an object are lightly and rapidly painted. In keeping with this definition, we will work from photographs and you will lay out large shapes in various values and colors, without any detail. Students must bring their own supplies and an apron. Pack a bag lunch or snack. Pastels will be demonstrated, but all media are welcome.

Location:

Belmar Arts Center

608 River Road

Belmar, NJ

732-749-3360
